Our Story

Founded with a deep respect for the land and the rich cultural heritage of Hawaii, Ahupua’a O Halawa began with a vision: to restore the balance between nature and community, just as our ancestors did. Inspired by the ancient practices of Lo’i kalo (taro farming), we aim to bring back this sustainable agricultural tradition, which not only nourishes the land but also the spirit of our people.

We saw the growing disconnection between the natural world and modern life, and we felt a responsibility to act. Through restoration projects, we are bringing back traditional methods of farming, protecting habitats, and empowering communities to take an active role in caring for Hawaii's fragile ecosystems.
